Large cabinet specimen featuring two calcified Mercenaria Permagna shells filled with golden calcite that can be seen poking through them. There are also partial shells and a coquina matrix made up of small shell bits. The calcite and calcified portions of the shells are highly fluorescent and phosphorescent.

This piece is from the original Rucks Pit quarry and was found at Eddie Rucks' Fort Drum Crystal Mine. Before the quarry closed, Eddie trucked a few tons of dirt from the quarry down the road to his farm, which he named Fort Drum Crystal Mine. Both the original quarry and farm are under new ownership, with the original quarry remaining untouched and filled with water. While some piles of dirt were dug through for years, Eddie kept a significant amount of untouched dirt behind his farm, and that is where this piece came from. We had some great times out there!
